Back in the Hunt, Bandits Take Two
The Bandits were able to secure a pair of victories on Thursday night as they hosted the De Pere Riverbandits at Municipal Field. De Pere was recognized as the home team for both games as it was a scheduled makeup of a June rain out at De Pere. The two games were on complete opposites of the spectrum as game one went nine innings and ended with a narrow 3-2 victory for the Bandits. Parker Johnson pitched eight solid innings to pick up the win and Galen Duff recorded his second save of the season. In Game two, De Pere's pitchers struggled with control and the Bandits took advantage, plating fifteen runs and winning in five innings. Matt Phipps picked up the win. Nat Richter had four hits on the evening. Mike Hall added three while Brandon Bartels was 2x2 in game two with a pair of hit by pitches. The Bandits are off Friday and travel to Kenosha on Saturday for a doubleheader against the Kings.
