Bandits Show Some Power, Hit 3 HRs
The Bandits came back home after a week on the road and looked quite comfortable as they defeated the De Pere RiverBandits by a score of 12-2. The Bandits took advantage of a depleted De Pere pitching staff that completed a 23 inning double header marathon over the weekend in Appleton to record 10 hits which included home runs by TC Lee, Brock Wetenkamp and a game ending line drive shot by catcher Kyle Schroeder.
Matt Phipps pitched seven solid innings, striking out the final five batters he faced before newcomer Mike Ruzek struck out two batters in his only inning on the evening. The Bandits will travel to Oshkosh tomorrow night (Wednesday) before returning to Manitowoc for Home games on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. They will be hosting the Green Bay Storm on Friday and the Lombard Orioles on Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is FREE to all on Saturday, compliments of the Manitowoc Company and Sunday is Military Appreciation Day and all Veterans, Military Personnel and their families receive FREE admission. In addition, during the break between Sunday's doubleheader action, there will be a special recognition by bagpipe in gratitude for our soldiers.
