Bandits Win Both Ends of Sunday Doubleheader

Mother Nature did her best to put a cancellation on Sunday's ballgames with a late morning thunderstorm but Municipal Field was prepped and the Bandits jumped all over the Addison (IL) Braves, opening the doubleheader with a 12-2, 5 inning win.  Miles Mayer was the recipient of the run support as Brock Wetenkamp homered twice and Nat Richter followed Brock's second homer with one of his own over the right field fence.  The Bandits also recorded six doubles in the games as well as the bats were alive early and often.  Game two saw more of the same as the Bandits took the victory by a score of 7-0.  Matt Phipps picks up the win and Galen Duff picks up a 3-inning save in his first appearance of the summer.  The Bandits drew seven walks in the contest, making their five singles more valuable and timely as the offense made efficient work on the day.  The Bandits next game is at home on Tuesday when they host the Menasha Macs in a 6:30 weeknight doublheader.
