Christensen, Bloom Carry Bandits to Split
Doug Bloom hit an RBI triple in the top of the seventh inning and then scored on the errant throw to give the Bandits a 3-2 victory in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader versus the Addison Braves in Illinois. Joe Christensen continued his strong 2009 pitching performance by picking up the complete game victory.
Game two was quite as kind as the Braves scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning off Bandits starter Matt Phipps en route to dropping the Bandits in a 7-2 loss. The Bandits and Braves play again Sunday at noon to complete the series. The Bandits will send Trevor Theismann and Andrew Wyman to the mound. The Bandits are currently 4-2 in WSL play and in first place in the Wisconsin State League.
