There's a Win this Christmas for the Bandits
The Manitowoc Bandits hosted their 11th Annual Christmas in July and entertained the folks from the local Shopko store at Municipal Field on Friday night. The contest was close all night long but the Bandits prevailed by a score of 5-4. Matt Phipps earned a win with three innings of work, following Greg Herr's six inning performance.
Green Bay scored early, putting two runs across in the top of the first before the Bandits answered with three runs in the bottom of the second and a single run in the third inning. Green Bay would answer with one in the sixth and one in the seventh to tie the game.
Max Stepan would then score in the top of the seventh on a Mike Hall single to regain the lead for good. Mike Hall had three hits in his stocking this year while Max Stepan, Brock Wetenkamp and Sam Spurney each had a pair of hits under the tree.
The Bandits travel to Kenosha on Saturday before returning home on Sunday to host the Janesville Aces at 1pm at Municipal Field.
