Menasha Claims 2009 League Championship
Submitted by james on Fri, 08/14/2009 - 5:52amBrad Schreiber pitched eight innings and recorded three hits, one a solo homer and another a two-run double, to lead the Macs past the Green Bay Storm in the final game of the NEWBL Championship Series by a score of 10-6. Doug Coe was 2x4 with two HRs to lead Green Bay offensively. Jake VanCamp took the loss on the mound. Menasha replaces Manitowoc as League Champion after Manitowoc had won the title for the past two years.
Storm, Macs to Play Decisive Game 3 Thursday
Submitted by james on Wed, 08/12/2009 - 10:40pmAfter getting routed by a score of 13-1 on Tuesday night, the Green Bay Storm came back strong behind the pitching of Tony Jandron to defeat the Menasha Macs 5-3 on Wednesday night and force a Game 3 which will be held in Menasha on Thursday at 7:15.
Season Ends with Loss, Menasha Advances
Submitted by james on Sun, 08/09/2009 - 11:59pmThe Menasha Macs will advance to the Championship Series this year to play the Green Bay Storm, who eliminated the Sheboygan A's, after Menasha defeated the Bandits 9-6 on Sunday night. The Bandits run of consecutive Championships comes to an end at two as a new champion will be crowned this summer.
Menasha Rallies in Ninth, Leads Series 1-0
Submitted by james on Sat, 08/08/2009 - 9:21pmThe Bandits took a 6-5 lead into the top of the ninth inning but couldn't hold on as the Macs plated three runs to win the ballgame by a score of 8-6 and put the Bandits on the brink of elimination in the 2009 season. The game went back and forth all night as the Bandits jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Doug Bloom scored on a Max Stepan single. Menasha would answer in the top of the second with a pair of solo homers off starter CJ Marx by Nick Beeman and Jared Surman.
Friday Playoff Game Rained Out
Submitted by james on Fri, 08/07/2009 - 4:31pmFriday night's Semi-Final Game One at Menasha has been rained out... The Bandits will now host Game One on Saturday night at 6pm at Muncipal Field and Games Two and Three (if necessary) will be held in Menasha at 7:15 pm.
Bandits Advance to Round Two, Will Face Menasha
Submitted by james on Tue, 08/04/2009 - 11:36pmThe Manitowoc Bandits will advance to the second round of the 2009 NEWBL playoffs after defeating De Pere by a score of 15-3 on Tuesday night in Manitowoc behind the pitching of Joe Jost and and offensive output of eighteen hits which included an outstanding performance by Mike Hall who was 4x5 with six RBIs. Brock Wetenkamp also had a great night at the plate as he was 3x5 with a single, double and a homerun. Doug Bloom and Nat Richter each had three hits apiece as well as the Bandits ended the DePere season.
Legends, Macs Also Go Up 1-0
Submitted by james on Tue, 08/04/2009 - 12:43pmThe Appleton Legends defeated the Green Bay Storm by a score of 1-0 on Monday night.. John Hendricks tossed the complete game shutout victory over Rob Coe. The series moves to Green Bay tonight.
Menasha upended Little Chute by a score of 16-6 as Macs ace Jason Werschke pitched seven innings and recorded eleven strikeouts while giving up eleven hits to the RiverBandits. The series moves to Little Chute tonight.
Bandits Open Playoffs With Big Win
Submitted by james on Mon, 08/03/2009 - 10:52pmThe Bandits bats were hot on Monday night as the club cruised to a 15-2 victory in game one of the first round of the NEWBL playoffs over the DePere Riverbandits. Manitowoc now leads the best-of-three series 1-0 with Game Two in Manitowoc on Tuesday night but with DePere as the home team. Matt Phipps picked up the playoff win with six solid innings of work. He struck out six and gave up only three hits. Offensively, the Bandits were paced by Doug Bloom who was 3x4, Max Stepan 2x3, Josh Krowiorz 2x4, and Nat Richter 2x5.
Bandits Little Leaguers Win World League Title
Submitted by james on Sat, 08/01/2009 - 9:23pmThe Manitowoc Bandits sponsored Little League team in the World League of Manitowoc Youth Baseball League completed their outstanding season by winning the Championship Game over Applebee's by a score of 3-0 at Lincoln Park on Saturday night. Austin Tess pitched three innings of shut out ball to pick up the win while Jack Hermann pitched the final four innings to pick up the save. The Bandits Little Leaguers sported a 12-1 record over the summer, losing only their first game before running the table on the rest of the season.
Bandits Sweep Kings to Finish .500
Submitted by james on Sat, 08/01/2009 - 9:19pmMatt Roberts picked up his first career win for the Bandits as he took control on the mound after a rough first inning to defeat the Kenosha Kings by a score of 9-5. Kenosha put up three runs in the first inning on a homerun over the left field fence but Roberts settled down and had a solid seven-inning complete game win under his belt by the time it was over. Max Stepan was 3x4 with two doubles and Josh Krowiorz was 1x2 with a 2-run homer to pace the Bandits offensively.
